Choose drivers and programs

By default, the media creator adds all drivers of the PC and all programs of your license to the boot media. In expert mode you choose them yourself before each build, for example to add a storage driver for other hardware or to leave out optional programs.

Turn on expert mode​

  1. Start O&O BlueCon.
  2. Click Advanced options.
  3. On the Advanced tab, select Expert mode.
  4. Close the window.

From now on, the expert window opens before each build. To build with the default settings again, clear Expert mode.

Choose the drivers​

  1. Create the boot media as usual (Create boot media).
  2. In the expert window, open Apply host drivers.
  3. Choose one option:
    • Apply all drivers from the host system (recommended)
    • Apply no drivers
    • Apply selected drivers – then select the drivers in the list, or click Add to add a driver (.inf file) that is not installed on this PC. Select all and Select none change the whole list.

Choose the programs​

  1. In the expert window, open Programs.
  2. Clear the programs you do not want on the boot media.

The Note column explains why a program cannot be cleared:

  1. Continue the build.

Result​

The boot media contain only the selected drivers and programs. Programs you left out are also missing from the start menu and the launch pad.
