System requirements
PC that creates the boot media
- 64-bit Windows 10 or Windows 11, or Windows Server 2016 or later
- Administrator rights for the installation
- Microsoft .NET 10 Desktop Runtime (x64); the setup downloads and installs it if it is missing
- Internet access while the boot media are created: the media creator downloads the current Windows recovery environment from Microsoft and some programs, such as Firefox. Without internet access it uses the recovery environment of the PC itself.
- For a boot USB drive: a USB flash drive or, with Show all drives, a USB hard disk or SSD. The whole drive is erased.
No Windows ADK or Windows PE add-on is required.
Computers you can repair
O&O BlueCon works with Windows installations of these versions:
- Windows 10 and Windows 11 (all editions, x64)
- Windows Server 2016, 2019, 2022 and 2025 (all editions)
The computer must be able to start from a USB drive or from the ISO image (for example as a DVD or in a virtual machine). Boot media created with the default settings start on computers with BIOS and with UEFI firmware.
Secure Boot
If the computer does not start from the boot media, check the boot order and the Secure Boot setting in the firmware. See Troubleshooting.
