Crash reports
When a program in the recovery environment ends unexpectedly, O&O BlueCon offers to save a memory dump. O&O Support uses it to find the cause.
The dialog
The dialog Application unexpectly closed suggests a folder for the dump file and shows the free space and the space the dump needs.
| Element | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Path | Folder for the dump file. O&O BlueCon suggests the boot USB drive, otherwise the RAM drive X:. A drive of the computer is never suggested. |
| … | Choose another folder |
| OK | Saves the dump and ends the program |
| Cancel | Ends the program without saving a dump |
The file name is OOBC-Dumps\<program>-<date>-<time>.dmp.
Dumps on X: are lost at restart
If the dump is saved on X:, copy it to a USB drive before you restart the computer.
Blue screens
If the recovery environment itself stops with a blue screen, the stop code stays on the screen. Note it for your support request.
