Load drivers
On hardware for which the boot media contain no driver, the recovery environment may not see the disk or the network adapter. You can load the missing driver from a USB drive while O&O BlueCon is running.
Prerequisites: the driver as an unpacked folder with an .inf file, for example on a USB drive. Driver packages from the manufacturer that come as a setup program must be unpacked on another PC first.
Load a storage or network driver
- In the start wizard, click Load storage driver… (no Windows found) or Load network driver… (no network device).
- Open the folder with the driver and select the .inf file.
- Click Open.
O&O BlueCon loads every driver in this folder (not in subfolders) and reports how many were loaded. The start wizard then searches for drives and network devices again.
Load a driver for a specific device
- In the start wizard, click Change in the Target row.
- Open the Driver tab. It lists the devices by class with their driver and status.
- Select the device and click Load driver.
- Select the .inf file and click Open.
An unsuitable driver can crash or damage the system. Load only drivers intended for this device and for 64-bit Windows 10 or 11.
Avoid loading drivers each time
Add the driver to the boot media: install it on the PC that creates them, or add it in expert mode under Apply selected drivers > Add. See Choose drivers and programs.
