Prepare the target system
The start wizard Welcome to O&O BlueCon prepares the computer so that all programs can work on its Windows installation. It runs automatically after the start; you only intervene when a row reports a problem.
Read the status
The wizard shows three rows, each with a status and a Change button:
| Row | Good status | When you need to act |
|---|---|---|
| Target | A Windows system was found and selected for maintenance. | Several Windows systems were found, or none. |
| Network | Network and internet connections are available. | No connection or no network device. See Set up network and screen. |
| Screen | The screen is optimally configured. | Higher resolutions are available. See Set up network and screen. |
When a row needs a driver, the wizard shows Load storage driver… or Load network driver… next to it. See Load drivers.
When everything is ready, click Next. The desktop opens.
Choose the Windows installation
- In the Target row, click Change.
- On the Target tab, select the installation. The list shows Title, Location, Build and Install date.
- Check the line Selected Windows instance:.
- Click Close.
Assign drive letters
For O&O BlueCon to service a Windows installation, all its drives need drive letters. The wizard assigns them automatically. To change one:
- In the Target row, click Change.
- Open the Drives tab.
- Select the drive and click Assign.
- Choose the drive letter and click OK.
- Click Close.
No Windows installation found
If the Target row reports No installed Windows system found:
- the Windows drive may be encrypted – unlock it, see Unlock a BitLocker drive;
- a storage driver may be missing – click Load storage driver…, see Load drivers.
Open the start wizard again
Click Start > Control Panel > O&O BlueCon - Configuration. The wizard opens with the current settings; Next closes it again.
