FAQ

Does Check automatically repair Windows?

No. The first run checks the selected areas. If it finds problems, the main action becomes Repair, which you select separately. See Repair detected problems.

Why does the application need administrator rights?

It uses Windows servicing and disk-maintenance functions that require elevation, so Windows asks when the application starts. See System requirements.

Can I cancel a run?

Yes, with Cancel and the confirmation prompt. During a repair, an additional warning appears because changes already made are not rolled back. Let a repair finish whenever possible.

Can I choose another drive?

No. The main window checks the system drive and has no drive selector. See What the checks cover.

Does a green result mean the entire PC is healthy?

It means that the selected checks did not report an inconsistency in that run. It is not a malware scan and not a comprehensive hardware test. See Results and logs.

Why did the repair not fix everything?

The Windows maintenance operation may need source data, network access or a working recovery configuration. Open Show log file when it is offered and send the relevant error to support. See Troubleshooting.
