Results and logs

The window shows a status beside each selected check and a combined result at the end. A passed result applies to the areas selected in that run.

What the result means

  • A passed check did not report an inconsistency in the selected area during this run. It is not a malware scan and not a complete hardware test.
  • A failed check reports a problem in that area. The main action then changes to Repair; the repair pass is a separate step that you start yourself.
  • A result after a repair describes the repaired areas. If inconsistencies remain, the log file shows the failing step.

Log file

When a check or repair reports a problem, the application offers Show log file. The log contains the failing step, the message and any error code. Read it before repeating a repair; see Troubleshooting for the typical causes.

Information for support

Provide the application version, the Windows version, the selected checks, whether you ran Check or Repair, and the error or the relevant log excerpt. Check logs for personal paths or other private information before sharing them. See Support and more from O&O.
