Job drives and options
The job editor separates what to optimize from how to run it. Review the options before saving a recurring task.
Drives and method
Open Drives → Drives and method…. For each volume, select its method and minimum fragmentation level. A disabled method excludes that volume from the job. At least one volume must have an enabled operation.
The minimum fragmentation percentage ranges from 0 to 100. It is a start threshold, not a target result. A drive below the threshold may be skipped.
An analysis/report-only method creates information without reorganizing files. If a drive uses that method, Create reports is forced on for the job.
Drive options

| Skip drives containing shadow copies of other systems | Avoids those volumes for the run. |
| Disable automatic optimization | Controls background monitoring in the saved options. |
Review the two ROI settings as well. SSD protection and ROI protection are different settings; one prevents SSD defragmentation, while the other limits low-benefit writes for SOLID.
Per-volume maintenance and zones
Zones… opens the zone editor. Automatic optimization… opens a scope-based editor with default groups and individual drives.
The per-volume editor exposes intervals for quick and thorough optimization, SSD TRIM, wiping free space, thin-provisioning maintenance, and disk cleaning. Leave additional operations disabled unless you intend to use them. Wiping free space changes the recoverability of deleted data; thin-provisioning maintenance should match the storage system's requirements. These are not OODCMD commands.
Reports and tray options
Under Options, enable reports and choose how many to keep, from 1 to 999. Select Windows event-log detail if you need it. You can also enable a completion summary, the tray icon, and advanced controls for logged-on users.
Use Files for exclusions and Activity Monitor for load and power limits.
