Reports and event logging
Open Schedule and select the Reports tab at the bottom of the interface. Reports are grouped by date and include the drive or task name. Double-click a report to open its HTML document in a browser.
Generate reports
Enable Create reports under Settings → General, and inspect the corresponding setting in saved tasks. Reports are then generated for completed analysis and defragmentation operations.
To create a report explicitly, select the drive and choose Create in the report commands on the ribbon. This starts an analysis; after it finishes, the report is saved and displayed. Hold Ctrl to select more than one drive.
The Classic UI supports a retention setting of up to 999 reports per computer. Older reports are removed as the retention limit is reached. Save reports you need for comparison or support before they expire.
Interpret results
A report includes drive and file-system information, optimization details, fragmentation results, and lists such as the largest or most fragmented files. Check the action, method, time, drive, and completion state before comparing numbers.
Compare the same drive under consistent settings. The fragmentation percentage does not directly measure application speed. Skipped files can reflect exclusions, locks, available working space, or the selected method.
Delete reports
Select an individual report and use Delete, select a date group to delete its reports, or use Delete All to clear the collection. Save any evidence you need first. Deleting reports does not undo optimization or delete the corresponding saved task.
Windows Event Log
Enable event logging in General settings when needed. Detail levels range from errors only at 1 to all information at 4. Open Windows Event Viewer and inspect entries around the time of the action or error.
For a problem report, record the exact message, product version, drive, method, and task name along with relevant HTML reports and event entries. See Troubleshooting.
