Notification area and drive activity
Both graphical interfaces share the notification-area application. Hover over the icon for status, or right-click to open its menu.
Status and operation controls
Start O&O Defrag opens the interface. Show status window opens the compact status display. The separate Start submenu selects an optimization method; Pause and Stop control agent activity.
Tray operation commands act across its drive list. Use the main interface when you need to select one particular drive. Additional controls depend on the logged-in user's configured access.
Hibernation mode
Choose Start hibernation mode to suspend the agent service and Stop hibernation mode to start it again.
Starting this mode requests administrator elevation and stops the O&O Defrag Agent service. It affects all agent work and connections, including scheduled maintenance and both interfaces. It does not put Windows itself into hibernation. Stopping the mode starts the service again.
Use ordinary Pause for an interruption when you want the agent to remain available. If the interface cannot connect after you enabled hibernation mode, end that mode and check that the service has started.
Hide or restore the icon
Exit closes the tray application; it does not uninstall Defrag or disable the agent. Reopen the installed OODefragTray.exe, or sign out and back in when startup of the tray is enabled. Check the Windows notification-area overflow if the icon is hidden. See tray settings.
Drive activity display
To display drive activity, open the Modern UI and launch O&O DriveLED from Tools. It is a separate application.
Drive activity is distinct from O&O ActivityMonitor, which controls resource use during optimization. See Modern UI Tools.
