Tray Icon Menu
O&O DeskInfo has no window with a menu bar. Everything you need for everyday use is in the context menu of the tray icon — right-click the icon in the Windows notification area to open it.
This page describes every entry, in the order in which it appears. Every change takes effect immediately and is written to the configuration file.
Some entries only appear when they are relevant. The Monitor and Network adapter submenus are hidden when there is only one monitor or only one adapter, the sliding-window options are hidden while desktop integration is active, Show Windows Product Key is hidden when no key can be read, and Use Efficiency Mode is hidden on Windows versions without Efficiency Mode.
Information displayed
Selects the active display profile.

| Minimum | Information message, user and machine, operating system. |
| Drives only | All drives without labels — a compact drive panel. |
| Custom | Your own profile. Only visible once you have created one; the entry then carries the name you gave the profile. |
| Edit Custom Profile… | Opens the profile editor. See Display Profiles. |
Position
Places the display in one of the four corners of the screen.

The default is Right top.
Network adapter
All network values — adapter name, IP addresses, gateways, DNS servers and the network traffic graphs — refer to one adapter. This submenu selects it.

| Automatically | O&O DeskInfo picks the adapter that Windows currently uses for outbound traffic. Recommended. |
| adapter name | Pins a specific adapter. Adapters that are currently up are marked as (active). |
Loopback adapters are not listed. Changing the adapter restarts the application so that all network values can be re-read.
Monitor

| All monitors | Shows the information on every connected monitor simultaneously. Only present when more than one monitor is connected. |
| Monitor 1, Monitor 2, … | Shows the information on this monitor only. The primary monitor is marked as (Primary). The numbers match the ones Windows uses in its own display settings. |
Changing the monitor restarts the application. Connecting or disconnecting a monitor updates the menu automatically.
View settings
Everything that concerns the look of the display.

| Show button on desktop | Sliding-window mode only. Shows or hides the tab button at the screen edge. With the button hidden, click the tray icon to toggle the window. |
Text color
| Entry | Description |

| Automatically | Default. Chooses black or white text depending on the brightness of your wallpaper, and follows wallpaper changes. |
| White (default) | Fixed white text. |
| Light gray, Gray, Dark gray | Fixed gray tones for a more discreet look. |
| Black, Red, Green, Blue | Fixed colors. |
| Custom | Only visible when the configuration file contains a color that is not in this list. Selecting it does nothing — it merely indicates that a custom color is active. |
Choosing any fixed color switches the automatic adjustment off.
Button color
Sliding-window mode only. Color of the tab button at the screen edge: Blue (default), White, Black, Red, Green, Orange — plus a Custom entry when the configuration file specifies a different color.
Background opacity
Sliding-window mode only. Opacity of the panel background: Full (100%), Medium (80%) (default) or Low (40%). A Custom entry appears for other values from the configuration file.
Font size

Opacity of the display
Opacity of the entire information panel: Full (100%), Medium (80%) (default) or Low (40%), plus Custom for other values. Lower values let the wallpaper show through more strongly.
Quick setup…
Reopens the setup step of the welcome wizard: application start, display profile, monitor, position (with preview), text size and text opacity — all in one dialog. See Clipboard and Support.
Start with Windows
Adds or removes an autostart entry for the current user, so O&O DeskInfo is available after every logon. No administrator rights are needed.
For unattended deployments use SetAutoRun instead.
Show drive activity
Adds read/write activity indicators to every drive — a software replacement for the hard disk LED. Switching this option restarts the application because the underlying performance counters have to be re-initialised. See Drives and USB Devices.
Warn of unknown USB devices
Off by default. When enabled, connecting a USB storage device you have not seen before shows a notification in which you can trust the device once or always. See Warning about unknown USB devices.
Show graphs

| Network traffic in Mb/s | Checked (default): traffic in megabits per second. Unchecked: traffic in bytes per second. |
These switches work as a filter on top of the active profile: a graph is drawn only if the profile contains it and the switch is enabled.
Update speed
How often the values are refreshed.

Normal is the default. Faster updates give smoother graphs at slightly higher CPU cost.
Use Efficiency Mode
Enabled by default. Asks Windows to run O&O DeskInfo as a background process with reduced thread priority and, on supported hardware, on efficiency cores. The entry is hidden on Windows versions that do not offer Efficiency Mode.
Launch Task Manager by double-clicking
Enabled by default. Determines whether a double-click on the tray icon opens the Windows Task Manager.
Show Windows Product Key
Opens a dialog with the Windows product key and, if available, the OEM product key from the BIOS, together with a button to copy both to the clipboard. The entry is hidden when no valid key can be read. See Windows product key.
Copy info to clipboard
Copies all information of the active profile to the clipboard as aligned plain text and offers to open it in Notepad. See Copy info to clipboard.
Language

The interface is fully translated into English, German and French; further localizations appear as they become available. Changing the language rebuilds the display immediately — no restart is required. The corresponding configuration setting is Language, and the command line offers /lang.

Hiding or restricting the menu
