Reports And Logs
Reports and logs help you prove that backups ran and understand what happened when something goes wrong.
Reports
Reports are created automatically after backup, restore, and clone operations when report generation is enabled. A report contains the source, destination, data volume, duration, result, and any warnings or errors.
The Reports tab lets you:
- View report details.
- Open a report in the default text editor.
- Save a report as another file.
- Delete report files.
- Filter or review recent reports.
Reports remain useful even after the original task changes because they describe what the operation actually did.
Report Status
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Successful | The operation completed without reported issues. |
| Completed with warnings | The operation completed, but one or more warnings should be reviewed. |
| Failed | The operation did not complete successfully. |
| Cancelled | The operation was stopped before completion. |
Logs
Application logging records relevant events locally. Engine logging records lower-level disk imaging engine activity and is primarily intended for support diagnostics.
Enable logging only when needed or when support asks for it. Engine logging may require restarting the application before it takes effect.
What To Send To Support
When asking for help, include:
- Product version.
- Windows version.
- Backup source and destination type.
- The latest report for the failed operation.
- Application or engine logs if requested.
- Whether the operation was manual, scheduled, hotplug, or continuous.
