Profile file structure

O&O ShutUp10 uses different formats for Free Edition settings exports and Premium Edition named profiles. Use the import command for the format you exported; changing a file extension does not convert its contents.

Free Edition: settings files (.cfg)

File → Export settings… saves a text file containing setting IDs and their states. File → Import settings… reads and applies those settings. Each exported line contains an ID, a tab, and + (setting on) or - (setting off), optionally followed by a tab and explanatory text. The reader also accepts semicolons as separators and ignores blank lines and lines beginning with #.

For example, this accepted input switches on S003 and switches off M003:

# Example settings
S003;+
M003;-

Check each setting's description and availability before importing a file from another computer. An off state is not a recording of the value that existed before you first changed the setting.

Premium Edition: named profiles (.pcfg)

Profiles → Export profile… opens profile management, where you select a profile and choose Export. The resulting .pcfg file contains XML with a CustomProfile root element.

FieldMeaning
IdProfile identifier, stored as an XML attribute. Import assigns a new identifier.
Name / NoteDisplay name and optional note.
CreatedDate / ModifiedDateCreation and modification timestamps.
IsDefaultIdentifies a built-in profile. An imported copy becomes a custom profile.
IsTemporaryTemporary-profile flag; cleared on export and import.
ApplicationModeAddOnly or ReplaceAll.
SettingsSaved setting IDs and their states.

Use an exported file as the reference when inspecting XML. Do not substitute an INI file or descriptive names such as DisableTelemetry for the actual setting IDs.

Profiles → Import Profile… adds a profile to the library without applying it. Import always assigns a new ID. If the name already exists, a numeric suffix is added automatically. Names longer than 64 characters and notes longer than 1,000 characters are shortened. Select the imported profile in Profiles → Manage Profiles… to apply it.

Application modes

ModeBehavior
Add-OnlyApplies the values of settings included in the profile, even when they differ from the current values. Other settings remain unchanged.
Replace-AllApplies the profile and also switches off currently applied, active settings that are not included in it.

Neither mode restores Windows factory defaults. Built-in profiles use Add-Only; custom profiles can use either mode. To restore recorded previous values or Windows defaults, use the appropriate command under Actions → Undo; see Undo History.

Share and edit profiles

Export and import profiles to transfer a configuration between Premium installations. Availability and permissions on the destination computer still determine which settings can be changed. Prefer the application's profile management controls when changing a profile, and keep an unmodified export before editing a file manually.
