Actions and Windows settings

Most checks read settings or measurements. A button can open Windows settings, run an additional query or offer an explicit change. Read the detail text before choosing it.

Power plan

The performance action can change the Windows power configuration to favor performance. On a portable PC, consider the effect on battery life, fan noise and heat. Review the resulting plan in Windows if you later want a different balance.

Visual effects

The performance option reduces visual effects but keeps font smoothing and thumbnails. The confirmation explains the change. Use the visual-effects settings of Windows to restore or customize the appearance later.

Restart

The restart action restarts Windows. Save open work first. Refreshing SpeedCheck is not the same as restarting Windows and does not satisfy a pending restart.

Low Latency Profile

SpeedCheck checks the Windows build and feature state and observes the CPU clock behavior. Activating and reverting the Low Latency Profile switches are expert actions guarded by a confirmation. Whether they apply depends on the detected Windows version and state.

A profile suggestion is not a guaranteed speed improvement. Read the details, use the offered revert action to reverse the change if needed, and compare results under similar workloads. A brief clock observation alone is not a full performance benchmark.

Options such as graphics settings, core isolation and indexing open the Windows controls for review. SpeedCheck does not disable security features or stop processes when it runs its checks.
