Boot Measurements and Entry Details

The headline can show the last boot time and an average of recorded boots. These measurements come from Windows' Diagnostics-Performance log.

Missing measurements

Windows may not have recorded a suitable boot, or the log may require administrator rights. Use File > Restart as administrator if the interface identifies a permissions limitation. “Not measured” is different from a measured delay of zero.

Per-entry details

Select a row to inspect its recommendation, startup source, command, file location, version and user scope. Where available, the details also show boot delay, the entry's own startup time and last-use information.

Boot delay reflects entries Windows reported as slowing startup. If Windows did not report an entry, the application says so; it cannot conclude that the entry never consumes resources. The Impact score is an assessment distinct from recorded elapsed time.

Use Columns to choose the information shown in the list. Compare boot measurements across several boots under similar conditions: updates, devices and background work can change startup time independently of the entry you changed.
